Dental Hygienist

Fay and Rebecca are our dental hygienists. Rebecca works on Tuesday and Fridays, Fay works on Mondays, Thursdays and alternate Saturday mornings.

You can be referred to the hygienist via the dentist or you can self refer providing you have had an examination with a dentist at the practice in the last 12 months.

The main role of a hygiene visit is to give you the skills, the tools and the techniques to maintain you own oral health. The hygienists carefully remove the hard deposits that build up on the teeth (tartar) and will teach you how to prevent it reforming again. This will go a long way to slowing the progress of gum disease.

Rebecca is our Dental Therapist. She can complete a variety of treatments on referral from Natasha and Jo. Treatments she can offer include:

  • Routine Fillings
  • Deciduous (Milk) Teeth Extractions Under local Anaesthetic
  • Taking Impressions
  • Taking X-rays
  • Scaling and Polishing Teeth
  • Oral Hygiene Instruction
  • Periodontal Treatment
  • Applying Fluoride Varnish and Fissure Sealants
  • Providing Dental Health Education

Rebecca works at the practice on a Tuesday and, if you need to see her, you will be informed at your examination appointment.

Since we have had the services of a Dental Therapist the practice, waiting time between examination and treatment appointments have been reduced.
